The General Engineering department in the Davidson College of Engineering offers interdisciplinary degree at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Both the B.S. in General Engineering and the M.S. in General Engineering degree programs provide high-performing students with the opportunity to develop an individually tailored, interdisciplinary program of study. The programs are design to provide flexibility for students who need coursework that is truly interdisciplinary and not available through the other engineering programs in the college, A typical program of study for a student includes courses from at least three different programs in the College of Engineering and may also use courses from other colleges.
In addition to providing administrative and advising support for both the B.S in General Engineering and the M.S. in General Engineering, the General Engineering department also provides administrative support for the College of Engineering's writing courses(ENGR 100W and 200W) as well as the Introduction of Engineering course(ENGR 10) taken by all undergraduate students in the College of Engineering. The department also offers a minor in Green Engineering.
